Questions?

Here are some of the most common questions I get about working together.

If you don’t see your question listed or are ready to schedule a free consult, contact me.

  • I am located in Portland, Oregon. Because I have an Oregon license, I can provide telehealth for people anywhere in the state, provided they have an internet connection.

  • We will schedule our sessions by phone but if we decide to use video for our sessions, I’ll send you a link via email that you can access at the time of our session. You will need a strong, secure internet connection and will need to have a private space to conduct your therapy.

  • Yes. Most of my practice is telehealth, but I do have a few spots available for in person sessions.

  • I offer a free 15 minute initial consultation. After that, my fee is $175 an hour. Other than contact made for scheduling, all communication outside of scheduled sessions is pro-rated based on my hourly rate. I do not offer sliding scale.

  • Your free consultation will be unstructured. You’ll be able to ask me any questions that you may have and we will get a sense of whether we could be a good fit.

Your first full session will be structured in keeping with Oregon law’s requirement that we conduct a full mental health assessment and treatment plan.

This will involve questions about your history and presenting concerns, as well as some discussion of goals. The format will not be typical of our sessions going forward, which will have as much or little structure as we agree upon.

  • That will depend upon how long you want to be in therapy, whether there is a third party paying for your therapy and what their rules are, as well as how the process unfolds.

  • I am paneled with PacificSource commercial insurance. I can not take PacificSource Community Solutions. I am currently not paneled with other insurance companies. If you arrange reimbursement for out of pocket costs with your insurance company, I can provide you with a superbill.

I am not paneled with Oregon Health Plan, but may likely be able to make a single case agreement with them to cover your services. If you have OHP insurance, please don’t hesitate to ask me to reach out to them to request such an agreement.

Please refer to my fees for information about out of pocket costs.
